OSP's Current Show

Swing State

Dates: January 15th – February 8th (2026)
By: Rebecca Gilman

Description: Recently widowed, Peg tends to the 40 acres of native prairie that rises behind her rural Wisconsin home. Her solitary days are interrupted only by visits from Ryan, a family friend with a checkered past. When her late husband’s footlocker is ransacked in her barn, she places a call to the local authorities—unwittingly setting off a series of events that will forever change their lives. As Peg and Ryan fight to regain each other’s trust, they learn how to help one another in a new and meaningful way and how to forge a sense of hope in a time when it feels like everyone’s way of life is in danger of disappearing.

OnStage Playhouse
The person who helps bring every season to life is stepping onto the stage!!James P. Darvas — the artistic director behind OnStage Playhouse’s bold, thought-provoking work — takes on a deeply personal role in The Velocity of Autumn.“Reading The Velocity of Autumn, I was struck by how deeply I saw myself in Chris… It’s rare to encounter a character who so honestly captures the struggle of a middle-aged artist balancing a full-time job while holding onto a creative life—and that persistent feeling of not being enough.Having moved 2,600 miles away from my mother 18 years ago, I was profoundly moved by how Eric Coble captures the experience of seeing a parent changed by time. The complexity and tenderness of a mother and her queer son are rendered with such grace and truth. I knew immediately this was a role I had to step into — not just as artistic director, but as an artist and a son.”Come see the artist behind the curtain step into the spotlight.🎭 The Velocity of Autumn opens TONIGHT!📅 The show runs May 1 - May 24📍 OnStage Playhouse🎟️ Get your tickets at OnStagePlayhouse.Org📸 @darenscottphoto ...
