OSP's Current Show

Swing State

Dates: January 15th – February 8th (2026)
By: Rebecca Gilman

Description: Recently widowed, Peg tends to the 40 acres of native prairie that rises behind her rural Wisconsin home. Her solitary days are interrupted only by visits from Ryan, a family friend with a checkered past. When her late husband’s footlocker is ransacked in her barn, she places a call to the local authorities—unwittingly setting off a series of events that will forever change their lives. As Peg and Ryan fight to regain each other’s trust, they learn how to help one another in a new and meaningful way and how to forge a sense of hope in a time when it feels like everyone’s way of life is in danger of disappearing.

🧀✨ FREE PLAY READING ✨🧀Join us at OnStage Playhouse for a free reading of American Cheese, a new play by local author Sandra Ruiz.On an early Sunday morning in southwestern wine country, four teenagers find themselves orbiting the same McDonald’s — a ride to work that hasn’t shown up yet, a brutal overnight shift, a term paper fueled by free WiFi, a babysitting swap gone sideways. What unfolds is funny, tender, and quietly heartbreaking: a fleeting, makeshift community built between kids who don’t quite belong anywhere else.Set against the glow of golden arches and teenage longing, American Cheese explores loneliness, connection, and the tiny miracles that can happen in the most ordinary places.Come experience a brand new work in its early stages — raw, alive, and unfolding in real time. And stick around after to support new plays, new voices, and the magical process of live theatre.📍 OnStage Playhouse🎟️ Free admission⏰ One Night Only! ... See MoreSee Less
