Mission Statement

Who We Are

Proud to be the only “live” theatrical stage in the entire South bay community, we operate year round, producing 6 regular shows and numerous short run productions and FREE educational events.

Our theatre is recognized as a significant cultural arts contributor to the community, and consistently impresses its audiences, critics, and judges with continuing high-quality productions. Throughout its history, OnStage has received more than its share of County-wide technical, acting, direction, and production awards. OnStage Playhouse has been performing in Chula Vista, California since 1986, opening the doors to our current location in 1999.

Mission

To present high quality theatrical productions in a broad range of styles, while serving as a community cultural resource and providing opportunities for education, personal growth, and achievement in an atmosphere of mutual respect, support, and enjoyment.

Vision

OnStage Playhouse seeks to provide a vital performing arts organization in an up-to-date, intimate setting, recognized throughout the region for its commitment to cultural activities, exceptional theatrical arts and education.

Theatre Worth Talking About

Making Great Theater Possible Through the Support of Our Community

We Are A Theatre Proudly Serving Our Community

We operate year round, producing six or more superior plays per year at our intimate theatre seating 60 playgoers, located near Third and F in Chula Vista’s Third Avenue Village.

We value our role in contributing to the South Bay and San Diego County community, and we work hard year round to provide our audiences, critics, and judges with continuing high-quality productions, as well as volunteer and internship opportunities.

We are passionate about our community as well as our commitment to diversity from our volunteers, to our employees, to our casting – we believe that what’s OnStage should reflect the world around us and encourage diverse representation. Our goal is to often relate our plays to issues in the community, and we host “Community Conversation” events where we invite the public and community representatives to discuss these issues at the theater.

Throughout our history, OnStage has received more than its share of county-wide technical, acting, direction, and production awards.
